Audio Excerpt

Welcome to Banff National Park, THE grandpa of all national parks, Yessireee.  This beauty is Canada's OLDEST national park. Established in 1885, it covers a whopping 6,641 square kilometres of mountainous terrain, with glaciers, ice fields, dense forest, and alpine landscapes.  Per archaeological findings (bones and stuff), the first human activity in Banff was dated to around 10,300 years ago ! Before the Europeans set foot here, the aboriginals (specifically the Kootenay, Stoneys, Kainai, Tsuu T'ina, Siksika, and Peigans)  lived on the land, hunting bison and other local wildlife. Today, the park is extremely popular and has something for everyone due to not one, not two, but THREE different ecoregions including montane, subalpine, and alpine. A number of furry critters live here, too. Rent free of course. What a life they have. AND they don't have to wear those pesky shoes.. Uhh shoes.. Who needs em!?  I digress.

Can anyone tell me which of the following species you might encounter in Banff National Park? Would you see,

A.) Tippawoo Snakes, B.) Hornbacked Beetles or,  C.) Wolverines?

The answer my friend, is blowing in the...any music buffs out there?? Man. Nobody ever sings with me! Well, my friend, the answer is C, Wolverines!! PS.. I made the other two up! Hehe. You also might stumble upon a grizzly bear, cougar, bighorn sheep, moose, elk and birds - LOTS of birds. In fact, there are HUNDREDS of bird species living in the park! Yikes. I just got a flashback to that move, The Birds. Any movie buffs out there?? Am I the only one who sits at home on Friday listening to old music and watching old movies? Hmph. I need to get a life one of these days.
