If you take a look about 45 degrees to your left, you'll see a large brown building. You may be able to see the name on it too. That's the Burton Cummings Theatre!
When the Burton Cummings Theatre opened in 1907, it was meant to be part of a larger hotel/restaurant/theatre complex but due to financial constraints the plans never came to fruition - and you can tell. Take a close look at the building, what gives it away?
From across the street, in the triangular park, you'll get the best view. Compare the elaborately classical entrance to the plain brick walls that make up the bulk of the structure. In the original plans, the building would have spanned the block and had a much more elaborate façade.
Let's go get a better look shall we!?
