Welcome to Couchiching beach park, or just Cooch, as the locals call it. Located at the foot of Downtown Orillia, this popular sandy beach is ideal for swimming, tanning, and my favorite beach activity, building gigantic sandcastles.

Other amenities at the park include a theatre, flower gardens, bandstand, skating rink in the winter, picnic tables, pavilions, trails, Washrooms and fountains. You can even rent Kayak and Stand-up Paddle Boards, if you want to take to the water!

Oh right, I almost forgot. There's also a miniature steam railway that choo choo's around the park for the kids to enjoy!

You can also do my absolute favorite, even better than building gigantic sandcastles, thing to do in the summer. Eat mouth watering, delicious, creamy, cold ice cream. The concession has a lot of other options too, which is good in case I eat every single last scoop of that delicious ice cream.

This 14.5-acre park is home to many special events. If you're lucky enough to be visiting on Canada Day, Couchiching beach park is the perfect place to take in the spectacular fireworks display put on by the City of Orillia.
