Here we are at our next stop! If you don’t see it right away, don’t worry, just look up and you can’t miss them! These tall, twisting metal structures are actually a set of sculptures called The Galleria Trees!
That’s right, you might have seen maple trees and oak trees, but now feast your eyes on these steel trees! Built in 2000, the sculptures come in two different designs that are 21 metres and 26 metres respectively. The fantastic trees were free too as they were gifted to the City of Calgary from Trizec Hahn Office Properties.
Not only are they nice to look at, featuring an LED light show, but they’re practical too! They reduce the power of the wind gusts that travel between the buildings, making a stroll on a windy day a little more comfortable.
