province in 1905, the task of administering land ownership transferred from the federal government to the newly formed provincial government. This necessitated the need for new buildings to house land records.
This was an extremely important task resulting in the impressive land titles building you see here. Being the very first building to be tendered by the province of Saskatchewan in late 1906, the historic building is now home to the Saskatchewan Sports Hall of Fame.
The hall of fame was established to honor outstanding Saskatchewan athletes, championship teams and sport builders, as well as preserving the history of Saskatchewan sports.
The hall of fame has over 12,000 artifacts, represents 51 different sports and has inducted over 230 athletes and 125 championship teams. Each year thousands of students attend events and tour the hall of fame, which helps promote awareness of Saskatchewan athletes in sports. If you have some time and you're a sports fan it's definitely worth a visit.
