My idea of a good day skiing is getting out on the slope early,  praying I make it to the bottom, counting my blessings if I did and didn't beak anything, then sipping hot cocoa in the lodge for the rest of the day. 

 

If you love being out on the slopes, take a look to the West, right off the highway...it's Mount Saint Louis Moonstone! 36 different ski slopes, nine chair lifts, three carpets!  It all started back in 1956 when our hero, Oh, you're talking back now,...cool. our hero former competitor in the Austrian National Alpine Championship, Josl Huter, emigrated from Austria to work in the auto industry. 

 

Josl was later asked to fill-in for a sick ski instructor outside of Huntsville, ..uh, well, he was ok,..but he liked it and decided to pursue skiing again 'til he was diagnosed with a brain tumor,.. but after surgery, he returned to skiing in 1959 and later got married!

 

Later he was offered  a manager position at a resort near Barrie, but it didn't pan out. Then a friend mentioned another POTENTIAL resort nearby,...Josl then sold his business in Austria, bought the property and in 1963...started to create Mount Saint Louis Moonstone.

 

It remains the perfect ski destination, accommodating everyone from beginner skiers and snowboarders right up to the most skilled shushers!
