A leisurely 20 minute drive North will lead you to the Nicolle Flats Interpretive Trail, one of the area’s best attractions. This short trail through a natural marsh takes you into the heart of the remarkable landscape, abundant with different animals all ready to greet you on your trip!
How do I know they’re ready to greet you? Well because I called Harold and requested the greeting package of course! You're probably wondering who Harold is, well he’s a really good friend who just happens to be an animal that makes this area his summer home, any idea what kind of animal Harold is?
Is he,
A) A great blue heron
B) A rare Stegosaurus
C) An Eastern Ribbon snake?
The answer is …A! Harold, and many other Great Blue Herons proudly call the Buffalo Pound and Nicolle Flats area their summer home! If you look carefully, you just might see him and his friends lounging around the marshes and lakes!
