Hey,...Anyone feeling adventurous!?  Why don’t we do a little island hopping!?  Just a couple kilometers northwest of here, on the Eastern shores of majestic Georgian bay lies the town of Parry Sound... and over 30 thousand islands to hop!

 

 I 'spose I should pack a toothbrush...and clean underwear,...and my bed time snuggle blanky…. it's going to take a little time to visit 30 thousand islands!  

 

Hmmm… well if you don’t have time for all that hopping, there are lots of other things to see and do!  You know, the area is a UNESCO Designated Georgian Bay Biospehere Rerserve....one of only 13 UNESCO sites in Canada.  It's also the world's largest fresh water archipelago.  Parry Sound is teeming with unique wildlife and forests, which the First Nations and Indigenous peoples help protect through education and cultural awareness.

 

Parry Sound is also the world's deepest natural freshwater port...  which is great because the Island Queen Cruise ship takes tourists and locals on exceptional sightseeing experiences in Georgian Bay!

 

Not everything happens out on The Bay though, Parry Sound features lots of celebrations and events like Festival of the Sound, Dragonboat races and a Busker's Festival as part of the towns Canada Day festivities.   Parry Sound is an environmentally diverse area with lots of tourist stops, resorts, golf courses and more just waiting to be discovered!
