Oh good, you’ve finally arrived. Welcome … to…. Jurassic…. Park!! Weelll not quite, but you're just a short drive away from Scotty, a T-Rex whose remains were found right here in Saskatchewan. Scotty’s fossils are housed at the T-Rex Discovery Centre, a 30 minute drive South to the town of Eastend. Scotty was found in August of 1991 by a local high school teacher who was out on a prospecting expedition. It was the first T-Rex found in the province of Saskatchewan, and is one of the most complete skeletons in the world!
Well we know the T-Rex has some really funny looking short arms, but that’s about the only small… or funny.. thing about this ferocious dinosaur. On average, how long do you think T-Rex skeletons are? Are they,
A) 30-50 feet long
B) 6-12 inches long or
C) 15-20 feet long?
If you answered C, 15-20 feet, you rock! Well that’s the average, but the longest T-Rex skeleton EVER is held by a dino named Sue, measuring a whopping 40 feet long! Saskatchewan’s own Scotty is pretty darn close though, measuring approximately 39 feet and well, you can go see it…. Right now!! Check the stop description for more information on the T-Rex Discovery Centre! Oh and while you're there if you hear them talk about DNA, dinosaur eggs or Raptors… you might want to get out of dodge, I’ve seen how that ends and it’s not pretty!
