See anything rather, uhhh, large North of the Highway? Perhaps with a whole bunch of smoke rising up and blowing around? The factories you see are part of the small village of Belle Plaine, which proves size doesn't matter by being the home to multiple sites of interest, including the Mosaic Potash Mine and the Yara Belle Plaine, a fertiliser production plant which lies just outside the village.

 

The Yara Belle Plaine company operates in more than 60 countries, provides jobs for almost 15,000 employees and offers a wide range of fertilisers for farmers to use. Furthermore, Yara has the largest single line granulation plant in North America. Yara Belle produces an average of 3000 tonnes of Urea per day. So, the question is, what is urea? Is it.

 

A) A tasty Canadian cuisine

B) One of the products of photosynthesising bacteria, containing carbon or,

C) The waste product of many living organisms, containing nitrogen?

 

So is urea a) Canadian cuisine, b) product of photosynthesis or c) waste product containing nitrogen?

 

The answer is C! Urea is one of the main constituents of human urine but can also be used as an inexpensive fertilizer as it contains nitrogen, a key ingredient in fertilizers as plants need it for growth.  Anyone gotta go number 1?? You might be able to make some money if so!
